How do I upload a Canvas to Spotify?

Use Spotify for Artists to add an eligible Canvas to your track. Download your silent MP4 from lyrik first.

You add a Canvas through Spotify for Artists, rather than the ordinary Spotify listener app. lyrik does not upload it to Spotify for you.

Download the finished Canvas from your lyrik song, then follow these steps.

Check your access

You need Admin or Editor access in Spotify for Artists. You must be listed as the first main artist on the track, or as a main artist on both the track and its release. Spotify also supports adding a Canvas to an upcoming release.

On the web

  1. Sign in to Spotify for Artists.
  2. Go to Music.
  3. Select your track.
  4. Choose Add Canvas and follow the upload instructions.
  5. Check the crop and preview before confirming.

In the Spotify for Artists app

  1. Open Music.
  2. Select your track.
  3. Tap Canvas and follow the upload instructions.

See Spotify’s current upload instructions if the controls look different.

If the option or file is not accepted

Check your team role and the track’s artist credits first. Then check the file against Spotify’s Canvas guidelines and upload troubleshooting.

A successful lyrik download does not confirm that Spotify has accepted the upload. Review the file in Spotify for Artists and follow any guidance it shows.
