What size should my Spotify Canvas be?

Spotify asks for a 9:16 vertical visual lasting 3 to 8 seconds. The lyrik Canvas preview is portrait and offers 3, 5 or 8 seconds. The download is a silent 540 × 960 H.264 MP4 at 30 frames per second.

Make the loop feel natural

Our designed camera and texture movements return to their starting state. Watch a few repeats and choose a calm join. An uploaded video loop still needs footage that joins well; changing its length cannot make every clip seamless.

Spotify advises avoiding rapid cuts and flashing effects. It also advises avoiding visible talking, singing or rapping because the visual does not sync with the song. Put the important part of your artwork near the centre: phone screens can crop the edges differently.

Keep the picture doing the work

Artist and track names already appear in the player. You usually do not need them again in the visual. Keep promotional text, web addresses and calls to buy or follow out of the Canvas. Relevant artistic text is different from an advert.
