Cookies, browser storage and analytics in lyrik.fm

Sign-in cookies, remembered choices and optional cookieless measurement on public pages.

lyrik uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. Closing a private browser window may remove that session, but it does not delete songs saved to your account.

Sign-in and useful choices

  • The sign-in session lasts up to 30 days, unless you sign out or it is revoked.
  • A short-lived cookie recognises the browser that requested an email sign-in link.
  • Browser storage remembers conveniences such as recent-song links and dismissed hints.
  • Protected actions can use a robot check. Checkout is handled by Stripe.

Clearing browser storage can remove local choices and sign you out. Sign back into the same account to find saved songs.

Public-page measurement

lyrik keeps Vercel Web Analytics for optional cookieless traffic measurement, with Vercel as processor. It runs only on eligible public pages, not the editor, account pages or embedded app. The URL filter removes query strings and project hashes before sending page information.

There is no cookie banner. The legal treatment of this measurement is still marked for lawyer review in the draft Cookies page and draft Privacy page. Cookieless measurement does not describe the data practices of every service used by the site.

Email preferences in Your account are separate from browser storage.
