Using Workshop in lyrik.fm
A Christmas craft table where every line is cut, stamped, foiled, stitched or knitted by hand as you sing.
Pick Workshop on the Style step for a Christmas video: a stop-motion craft table, a bit like Santa's workshop, where every line of your song is made by hand as you sing it.
What it looks like
- A craft table, lit by a lamp and fairy lights, with paper snowflakes, twine and foil stars around the work.
- Five crafts make your lyrics: letters cut from card, rubber stamps on a gift tag, shiny foil on a swinging tag, satin stitches in an embroidery hoop, and knitting, a row at a time.
- Most songs get four or five of them. The camera pans across the table from one craft to the next in the quiet between your lines, or a sheet of wrapping paper is pulled over and away.
- Choruses come back to the same craft, so the hook feels familiar each time.
- The bridge turns cold, with midnight blues and icy whites, and instrumental parts are knitted.
- The next line waits faintly before you sing it, so viewers can read along.
- It moves like stop-motion, a little handmade wobble and all.
Best for
- Christmas songs, whatever the genre: pop, ballads, folk and R&B suit it best.
- Calm to upbeat songs. Pace keeps an upbeat song lively, so it never feels too sweet.
- Any cover works: the table takes its colours from your cover and adds a Christmas red or green where it needs one.
- When your song is clearly a Christmas song, Workshop is the first of the styles 'Picked for your song'. See Why does lyrik suggest these three styles?
How to make it
- On the Style step ('Pick a style.'), find Workshop. On a phone, tap the Style tab first.
- Tap or click the card to see your clip (your first chorus, to start with) on the craft table.
- Choose a Font and a Lyric size.
- Open More ways to tweak it (the More tab on a phone) for Crafts, Palette, Pace and Snowflakes.
- Press Shuffle for a new table, new papers and a new camera. Undo goes back.
- Check both shapes, then press Download · from £4.99$5.99€5.99CA$8.99A$8.99.
Available controls
| Control | Choices |
|---|---|
| Font | Our pick, Cosy, Storybook, Elegant |
| Colour | Our pick, Your colour |
| Lyric size | Small, Medium, Large |
| Crafts | Our pick, Paper, Needlework, Cut paper, Stamp, Foil tag, Stitch, Knit |

Font availability depends on your lyrics. Colour choices can depend on the cover, and the Ad-libs row needs marked ad-libs.
Each craft lays out its own part of the table and sets every line as you wrote it, so the panel says 'Workshop chooses the capitals and where the lyrics sit for you.' Use Shuffle for a new layout.
Tips for great results
- Leave Crafts on Our pick to see up to five crafts across your song, or choose Paper or Needlework for a set that belongs together.
- One craft for the whole song: pick Cut paper, Stamp, Foil tag, Stitch or Knit.
- If your cover's colours don't feel Christmassy, choose Classic for cranberry red and pine green, or Frost for midnight blue and icy white.
- For a brand colour, choose Your colour under Colour · from your cover and enter it.
16:9 and 9:16
- 16:9 shows the table wide, with room around each craft.
- 9:16 frames each craft for a tall screen and keeps the lyrics in the area TikTok, Reels and Shorts leave clear.
Languages
- Elegant sets accented letters, the dots under Yoruba letters and the hooked Hausa letters.
- When your lyrics use letters Cosy or Storybook can't draw, Workshop makes the song in a font that can.
Good to know
- Colour, size, ad-libs and energy carry across if you switch style. Workshop remembers its own font, crafts, palette, pace and snowflakes.
- Shuffle gives every style a new take, not just Workshop.
- Previewing is free. Your first eligible clip is free too; other downloads use credits.
If something goes wrong
- The colours look muddy. A cover with very little colour moves to the Classic colours by itself. You can also pick Classic or Frost under Palette.
- It feels too slow for your song. Set Pace to Hype for quicker cuts and punchier moves on the beat.
- You'd rather not have snow. Set Snowflakes to Off. The fairy lights stay on.
Hidden extras
- The knitted parts follow your song's bars, a row at a time.
- On a computer, press S to shuffle and F to switch shape.
