Can I use my own brand colour?
Pick any hue, sample your cover, or type a colour code. We keep the lyrics readable.
Yes: tap + Your colour to pick any of 16 colours, take one from your cover, or type your brand's colour code, and we adjust it slightly only if your lyrics would be hard to read.
Step by step
- In the Colour · from your cover row, tap + Your colour. It's the last chip.
- On a computer, a page opens: 'Your colour', 'Any colour you like. We keep the lyrics readable.'
- On a phone, the Colour sheet turns into a Your colour page.
- On a tablet, it opens under the colour row.
- Choose your colour in one of three ways:
- The colour ring. Tap one of the 16 dots: Rose, Red, Coral, Orange, Amber, Yellow, Lime, Green, Jade, Teal, Cyan, Sky, Blue, Indigo, Violet or Pink.
- Or tap your cover ('Or click your cover' with a mouse). Tap a spot on your cover art and we use the colour of that spot.
- Brand colour. Type a six-digit colour code, such as #1f6feb, with or without the #. Then press Use.
- The preview changes at once. Press Done to go back. On a computer, Esc also takes you back.
Good to know
- Your colour applies to every style, like the other colour choices. Each style uses it in its own way: for example, it becomes the spot ink in Xerox and the colour of the lights on Departure's sign.
- We keep your lyrics readable. If your brand colour would make the lyrics hard to read, we move it a little and say so:
- 'Your colour was lightened slightly so it reads on screen.'
- 'Your colour was darkened slightly so the lyrics stay readable.'
- The ring and the cover choose a colour family, not an exact shade. The style decides how light and how strong it is, so it sits well in that style. Only Brand colour keeps your exact code (apart from the small readability change above).
- Once chosen, the + Your colour chip shows your colour, so you can see it's on.
- It's free, and you can change it as often as you like.
If something goes wrong
- I tapped a black, white or grey part of my cover and got a bright colour. Tapping your cover keeps only the colour family of that spot, at a set strength. Black, white, grey and skin tones have very little colour, so you get a bright version of whatever is there. To use an exact colour, type its code into Brand colour instead.
- I pressed Use and nothing happened. Brand colour only takes six-digit codes, like #1f6feb. Three-digit codes (#fff), colour names (red) and rgb() aren't accepted, and no message says so yet. Write #fff as #ffffff.
- I don't know my brand colour's code. Ask whoever designed your logo or artwork, or look in your design app. It's often called a 'hex code'.
- My colour disappeared after Reset style. Reset style puts colour back to Our pick for every style. Type your code again. See How do I undo my changes or reset a style?
Hidden extras
- With a keyboard, the arrow keys move round the colour ring.
- Note your brand code somewhere safe. If you reset a style, it's quicker to type it back in.
