Are my style changes saved?
Every change saves itself; what is remembered per style and what follows you between styles.
Yes: every change saves itself a moment after you make it, and the studio remembers each style's own choices for when you come back to it.
When it saves
- About half a second after your last change. A quick run of taps counts as one save.
- Straight away when you leave the Style step, close the page or press Download.
- On a computer, the bottom bar says 'Saving…' and then 'Saved' after you change something.
- On a phone or tablet there's no note, but it saves in just the same way. On a phone, the Download button greys out for a moment while a save finishes.
What's saved
Shared by every style (change it once and every style follows):
- Colour, lyric size, capitals and whether ad-libs show.
- Energy.
- The take (and your last 10 takes for Undo).
Remembered for each style (comes back when you return to that style):
- Font, background, where the lyrics sit, and the style's own rows, such as Chat in Texts or Doodles in Marker.
Also saved with your song:
- The style you're on and the format you're looking at (16:9 or 9:16).
- Your clip window.
- The exact settings your download is made from. What you choose here is what we use.
Saved separately: your big words and any sync fixes are saved into your lyrics' timing as you make them.
Coming back to a song
- Open the song from Your videos or from its link. The studio opens on the style you left it on.
- Switch between styles and each one shows the font, background and options you gave it.
- If you open another song from Your videos while you're in the studio, it shows in the same style and format if it can. Nothing is saved to that song until you change something or press Download, so just looking never overwrites it.
Good to know
- A brand-new song saves nothing at first. The studio picks the style that suits your song best, which takes a few seconds. Saving starts once that's done or once you pick a style yourself.
- Opening the studio may save quietly. That's normal, and it doesn't change your choices.
If something goes wrong
- A save failed. There's no message yet, and on a computer the bar can still say 'Saved' from an earlier save. The next change you make tries again, so once you're back online, make one more small change.
- My changes were gone when I came back. A save probably didn't get through, for example on a dropped connection. Make the changes again, and check you're online.
- I want to undo a change. See How do I undo my changes or reset a style?
Hidden extras
- Leaving the page mid-change is fine: a change that's still waiting is sent as you go.
