Which audio files can I upload, and how long can they be?

The formats we take, how long and how big your track can be, and why the same file matters.

Choose an MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A file. AAC, AIF and AIFF work too.

Where’s my track?

On your phone, tap Have your track on this phone? Choose it. Your phone’s file picker opens. Browse Files or iCloud Drive, or look for Google Drive or Dropbox if you have those apps installed and connected to the picker. If you can’t see your track, save the audio file to Files first, then choose it.

If the file is on your computer, use Email me a link for my computer on the homepage. You can try the demo song while you wait.

Check your file

  1. Use the final mix you want to hear in your video.
  2. Make sure the track is longer than 5 seconds and no longer than 8 minutes.
  3. Keep the file under 100 MB.
  4. Check the file really is the format its name says. Renaming the ending doesn’t convert it.

OGG, OPUS, WMA and video files won’t upload. Export your track in one of the formats above instead.

Your video uses the mix you upload, turned into AAC audio. The separated vocal we use to time your words isn’t what you hear in the video.

If the upload fails, check the format and size first, then try again on a steady connection. If you close the page part way through, the upload may not pick up where it left off.

To sync the same song again for free, use the very same file on the same account. We match the file’s contents, so a fresh export of the same master can count as a new file. See Starting another project with the same audio.
