Starting another project with the same audio

Change your lyrics, title or cover with a new project. Use the very same file and the sync can be free.

To replace your lyrics or language after uploading, start a new project with the corrected details. If you use the very same audio file, the sync can be free. For a small word correction, use Check the words. For a new cover, use Colour → Change cover in the studio; you do not need a new project.

Start again

  1. Keep your original project while you make the new one.
  2. Open Your videos and choose Start a new video.
  3. Choose the same audio file, then add your corrected lyrics and details.
  4. Check the sync cost and start the project.
  5. Listen through every line again before you download.

When the sync is free

We match the file’s contents, not its name. Renaming the file is fine, but a re-export of the same master, a new mix, a trimmed edit or a different format may not match.

The sync is free when the same account still has the earlier project, it finished syncing, and its credits weren’t given back. A sync that failed and was refunded doesn’t count. If you’ve deleted the earlier project, expect to pay for the new sync.

When it matches, we reuse the vocal separation and the music analysis, so it’s quicker. Your lyrics are timed afresh, so fixes you made by hand in the old project aren’t copied over.

Downloads and limits

Downloads you bought for the old project stay with the old project. Check the new project’s price before you buy. A new sync that doesn’t match uses 10 credits.

Daily limits still apply. See How much does it cost to sync a song?
