Can I change my lyrics, title, language or cover after uploading?

What remains editable, and when a fresh upload can qualify for free reuse.

You can correct words and timing in Sync, add or change cover art in Style, and edit the title and artist while the track is processing. A different recording or missing verse needs a new project.

Still changeable on the Sync screen

  • Select a word to Edit word, Delete or move its timing. Other words keep their timings. Deleting every word in a line removes that line.
  • Open More tools, select a line and choose Edit to change its wording. If you change the number of words, listen again: their timings are redistributed.
  • Move a line, mark it as an ad-lib or choose its big word.
  • Use Undo to restore a recent change. Wait for Saved before leaving.

You cannot insert a new verse, split or join lines, change the source recording or change the analysis language here. For those changes, start again with the correct recording and complete lyrics.

See How do I fix a line’s words or timing?.

Title, artist and cover

During processing, open While we sync · make it yours to edit the title and artist, then choose Save details. Once you have saved a style, these details are fixed for that project.

Add or change the cover in Style. See Cover art.

How to start again with the same song

  1. Tap the song pill at the top of the page (it shows your song’s cover and title), then Start a new video.
  2. Upload the same audio file you used before.
  3. Fix whatever you need: paste the lyrics with every repeat, correct the title, pick the language, add the cover.
  4. Press Sync my lyrics. The analysis screen says 'We’ve heard this track before, so this is quicker.'

Good to know

  • It can be free while this account has a ready, undeleted matching project and an eligible earlier charge that was not refunded. The wallet shows 'Synced “Title”: same audio as before, no charge'.
  • It can be quicker when the earlier analysis is still available to reuse. The timing is checked against your new lyrics.
  • The cloud compares the uploaded file bytes, not the file name. Re-exporting the same master can change that match. An MP3 of it, a new mix or a trimmed edit counts as new audio, and costs a normal sync.
  • Reuse starts have a separate daily limit. See Analysis limits.
  • Downloads you bought on the old project don’t carry over to the new one. Fix things before you buy.

If something goes wrong

  • 'You’ve started the maximum number of songs today. Try again tomorrow.' You’ve reached today’s limit for re-uploads from your network. Open one of your earlier versions from Your videos or its link, or try again tomorrow.
  • It charged me 10 credits. The audio wasn’t an exact match (for example an MP3 of a WAV you used before), or your earlier sync was refunded.
