Can I put the lyrics at the bottom, like subtitles?

Widescreen and Postscript let you choose where the lyrics sit; other styles lay out their own pages.

Yes, in Widescreen and Postscript: open More ways to tweak it and use Where the lyrics sit to put them at the bottom, like subtitles, or somewhere else; every other style lays out its own pages.

Step by step

  1. Pick Widescreen or Postscript in the list of styles.
  2. Open More ways to tweak it (on a phone, the More tab).
  3. Under Where the lyrics sit, tap a choice.

Widescreen

Choice What it does
Middle Lyrics in the middle of the picture
Bottom Lyrics low down, like subtitles, so the picture shows above them
Top Lyrics near the top, so the picture shows below them

Postscript

Choice What it does
Our pick We choose where the lyrics sit
Corner Lyrics tucked into one quiet corner for the whole song
Wander Lyrics move to a new corner with each part of the song
Bottom Lyrics low down, like subtitles
Middle Lyrics in the middle of the picture

Good to know

  • Remembered per style. Widescreen and Postscript each keep their own choice.
  • Other styles place the lyrics for you. Each one lays out its pages around your words, and the line at the foot of More says so, for example 'Folio chooses where the lyrics sit for you.' To get a different layout in those styles, try Shuffle. See What does Shuffle do, and what’s the Take number?
  • Now Playing always keeps the lines on the left, like a music app's lyrics screen.
  • In 9:16, play your clip's preview before you download, especially with Top or Corner, because TikTok, Reels and Shorts put their buttons near the edges. See Will TikTok, Reels or Shorts buttons cover my lyrics?

If something goes wrong

  • I can't see 'Where the lyrics sit'. You're on a style that lays out its own pages. Switch to Widescreen or Postscript.
