Using Widescreen in lyrik.fm
A film title sequence over your cover, which moves gently in depth.
Pick Widescreen on the Style step: your lyrics play like a film's title sequence, one wide line at a time, over your cover art moving gently in depth.
What it looks like
- One wide line of type, centred, over a living version of your cover.
- Your cover comes alive. It has gentle depth, a slow push in, and a touch of water, night or haze.
- Phrases enter whole, and each word lights up with a liquid ripple as you sing it.
- Choruses step closer, and the type takes on your cover's colour.
- Drops cut to a tighter shot.
- A film-grain finish.
Best for
- Pop, R&B, ballads, indie, country and rock.
- Calm to mid energy, roughly 50 to 135 BPM.
- Songs with space in them and long instrumental parts: it keeps your cover moving.
- A cover with a person on it: it frames them like a film. Dark or cool covers play like a film at night.
How to make it
- On the Style step ('Pick a style.'), find Widescreen. On a phone, tap the Style tab first.
- Tap or click the card to see your clip (your first chorus, to start with) in Widescreen.
- Choose a Font, a colour under Colour · from your cover, and a Lyric size.
- Open More ways to tweak it (the More tab on a phone) for Where the lyrics sit, the background, How words appear and Picture.
- Press Shuffle for new framing and cover motion. Undo goes back.
- Check both shapes, then press Download · from £4.99$5.99€5.99CA$8.99A$8.99.

Tips for great results
- A big, clear cover pays off. Widescreen shows it full screen, so a sharp, square image of 3000 px looks best. See What cover art works best?
- On a busy cover, try Bottom. The lyrics sit low like subtitles and your picture stays clear.
- For a slow ballad, try Fade under How words appear and Calm under Energy.
- If the type sits over your face, try Bottom or Top, or press Shuffle for a new framing.
16:9 and 9:16
- 16:9 is the natural shape: one wide line across your cover, like a film.
- 9:16 sets the line on up to two rows, at most about 70% of the width, inside the area TikTok, Reels and Shorts leave clear.
Languages
- Every Widescreen font sets accented letters, such as é, ñ, ø and ł.
- If your lyrics use the Yoruba letter ṣ, choose Our pick, Wide or Bold sans. Spaced, Western and the script words in Serif & script don't have it yet, and their chips don't grey out to warn you.
- If your lyrics use the hooked Hausa letters (ɓ ɗ ƙ ƴ), the whole song moves to a matching font that has them.
Good to know
- Huge isn't offered in Widescreen, because the widest fonts ran off a 9:16 frame.
- Colour, size, capitals, ad-libs and energy carry across if you switch style. Widescreen remembers its own font, background, position and rows.
- Shuffle gives every style a new take, not just Widescreen.
- Previewing is free. Your first eligible clip is free too; other downloads use credits.
If something goes wrong
- The lyrics are hard to read over your cover. Try Bottom under Where the lyrics sit, a Plain dark background, or the Muted colour.
- Capitals don't change with Serif & script. That font keeps its own mix of serif and handwriting. Pick another font to use the Capitals row.
- A moving background looks soft on your phone. If you see 'Simplified for your phone. Your download is full quality.', only the preview is simplified. See The preview is slow or choppy
Hidden extras
- On a computer, press S for a new framing and F to switch shape. Present shows the preview on the whole screen.
- Widescreen is a good match for a moving full-song video on YouTube. Press P on a computer to watch the whole song, not just your clip.
