Using Tapestry in lyrik.fm

The whole song builds into one picture as it’s sung, then the camera pulls back to reveal it.

Pick Tapestry on the Style step: your whole song is laid out as one picture made of your lyrics, the camera follows each line as you sing it, and at the end it pulls back to show the finished piece.

What it looks like

  • One picture made of every lyric, laid out from the start.
  • The camera rides the line you're singing, so it stays big and level, while the rest of the song waits faintly in place.
  • Four pictures to choose from:
    • Silhouette: your outline, from the person on your cover, filled with your lyrics in your cover's light and colour.
    • Record: your lyrics in the grooves of a record, with your cover as the label.
    • Poster: your lyrics set as a typographic poster, line by line.
    • Waveform: your lyrics drawn as your song's own waveform.
  • Choruses take a second ink, so the shape of your song shows as bands.
  • The last frame is the finished picture, a still worth sharing on its own.

Best for

  • Pop, R&B, indie, ballads and folk.
  • Calm to fairly lively songs, roughly 60 to 160 BPM.
  • Songs with a chorus: it bands every chorus through the picture.
  • Silhouette needs a person on your cover.

How to make it

  1. On the Style step ('Pick a style.'), find Tapestry. On a phone, tap the Style tab first.
  2. Tap or click the card to see your clip (your first chorus, to start with) being built.
  3. Open More ways to tweak it (the More tab on a phone) and choose a Picture.
  4. Choose a Font, a colour under Colour · from your cover, and a Lyric size.
  5. Watch the whole song to see the final reveal: on a computer, choose Whole song under Play. See How do I watch the whole song?
  6. Press Shuffle for a new take. Undo goes back.
  7. Press Download · from £4.99$5.99€5.99CA$8.99A$8.99.

Ad-libs Show, Hide

Font availability depends on your lyrics. Colour choices can depend on the cover, and the Ad-libs row needs marked ad-libs.

About Capitals: the first chip, Our pick, follows the picture you chose. Record, Poster and Waveform set your lyrics in capitals. Silhouette keeps them as you typed them. Choose ALL CAPS or lowercase to set it yourself.

Tapestry lays out the whole picture itself, so the panel says 'Tapestry chooses where the lyrics sit for you.'

Tips for great results

  • Silhouette needs a person on your cover. Without one, it fills a big first letter of your song title instead. A clear photo of you, filling the middle of the frame, works best. See What cover art works best?
  • Fast rap in 9:16? Choose Poster or Waveform. Our pick does this for you on busy songs.
  • Share the last frame. The finished picture makes a good still for your socials.
  • Tag your choruses so they show as clear bands. See How do I mark choruses, verses and repeats?

16:9 and 9:16

  • 16:9 gives the picture room to sit to one side as the camera pulls back.
  • 9:16 rides closer to a smaller word, so each line stays readable on a phone. Huge rides as close as Large here, so the word still fits the area TikTok, Reels and Shorts leave clear. Silhouette reads your figure in tall bands.

Languages

  • Bold sans sets accented letters and Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Akan marks.
  • Serif, Mono and Condensed switch to Bold sans for songs they can't set.

Good to know

  • Colour, size, capitals, ad-libs and energy carry across if you switch style. Tapestry remembers its own font, background and rows.
  • Shuffle gives every style a new take, not just Tapestry.
  • Previewing is free. Your first eligible clip is free too; other downloads use credits.

If something goes wrong

  • The silhouette shows the first letter of your title, not you. A person wasn't found on your cover. Choose Record, Poster or Waveform, or use Colour → Change cover with a cover that shows you. See Why is a style or font greyed out?
  • My lyrics are in capitals on Our pick. That's the picture you chose. See the note on Capitals above.
  • Lines are hard to follow in 9:16. Choose Poster or Waveform, or a bigger Lyric size.

Hidden extras

  • Your clip only shows part of the build. Watch the whole song for the full reveal at the end.
  • On a computer, press P to switch between your clip and the whole song, and S for a new take.
