How do I make my first lyric video, step by step?
From your track to your download, one step at a time.
Start with your track. Check the words and timing, choose a look, then download.
Make your project
- Choose Try for free and sign in to the account you want the song saved to.
- Choose your audio file.
- Paste or auto-detect your lyrics. If you paste, use one sung line per line and include the repeats. Check the language if needed.
- Check the sync cost below the button, let the robot check finish, then start. Keep this page open until the upload finishes.
Your project link lets you return later. You may need to choose the audio file again if you leave before the upload finishes. After the upload, the work continues in the background. While it runs, you can open While we sync · make it yours to check the title and artist.
Auto-detect lyrics finds words in the vocal, then sends them through the usual sync. There is no separate review screen: you check and correct them in Sync. See How do I auto-detect lyrics from my track?.
Check it and style it
- Listen through the Sync screen. Check the words as well as when they appear.
- Select a word to use Edit word, Delete, or the timing arrows. Use Undo if you change your mind.
- For a larger timing correction, use Tap along or open More tools for line controls.
- Choose Looks right when you’re happy, then pick a style. Add cover art if you have it.
- Preview the whole song as well as your clip. Open Download and check the format, clip, price and rights confirmations.
Previewing styles and fixing the sync are free. If your account gets the welcome offer, your first 5 syncs are free and your first clip on its own is free too. A full video comes with one 9:16 clip. See What’s free, and what do I pay for?.
Find uploaded projects in Your videos. A different recording or a missing verse needs a new project; spelling and unwanted words can be corrected in Sync.
