Reducing flashing and motion in your video

Find the controls that make movement gentler, without assuming a video has passed a safety test.

Some styles include quick changes of colour, camera movement or screen effects. Preview the parts with the strongest changes before sharing your video.

Make it gentler

  1. Open 'More ways to tweak it', or 'More' on a phone.
  2. Set 'Energy' to 'Calm'. Flicker has no 'Energy' row: use step 5 instead.
  3. Where the style offers it, set 'Screen effect' to 'Off'. In Texts, use 'Effects' and choose 'Off'.
  4. In Marker or Diary, choose 'Still' under 'Paper motion'. Marker also offers a still camera. In Tapestry, choose 'Steady' under 'Camera'.
  5. In Flicker, set 'Flashes' to 'Off' to stop the white flashes, and 'Wobble' to 'Off' to hold the lettering and the marks still.
  6. Play the chorus, drops and transitions again. Check the downloaded file too.

The engine limits some flash effects, but that is not a certification that every combination is safe for every viewer. Reduced motion on your device affects preview behaviour; it does not automatically remove effects from the export. In Flicker, reduced motion on your device stops the flashes and the wobble in the preview only; set 'Flashes' and 'Wobble' to 'Off' to take them out of your download.
