What keyboard shortcuts can I use?

On a computer, press ? in the studio to see the main keys; this page lists every one, on the Sync screen and in the studio.

In the studio

To see these on screen, press ?, or click the ? button by the preview (tooltip 'Keyboard shortcuts (?)'). On the tablet layout with a mouse, click Keys instead.

F	Switch between 16:9 and 9:16
P	Your clip or the whole song
S	Shuffle the look
?	Show or hide the keys
Esc	Close the keys, or leave Present

Esc also steps back out of Your colour, More and Big words.

In the studio’s panels

• Style list: the arrow keys, Home and End move through the styles and pick them.
• Song timeline: ← and → move 5 seconds (Shift: 15 seconds). Home and End go to the start and the end.
• Your clip: ← and → move the clip by about a bar. Shift with ← or → changes where it ends. Home and End move it to the start or end of the song.
• The clip’s grips: the arrow keys move that edge by a bar.
• Your colour: the arrow keys move round the ring of colours.

On the Sync screen

Key	What it does
Space	Play or pause. In tap mode, it taps.
Cmd+Z or Ctrl+Z	Undo
← or → with a line selected	Move the line 50 ms earlier or later (Shift: 250 ms)
← or → with a word selected	Move the word 20 ms earlier or later (Shift: 100 ms)
Esc	Let go of the selected word

While you answer the questions

• In the title fields, Enter goes on to the next question.
• In the lyrics box, Enter starts a new line. Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter goes on.
• In Your videos, the arrow keys, Home and End move through the list, and Esc closes it.

Good to know

• The shortcuts are for computers, and tablets with a keyboard. The phone layout of the studio switches them off.
• They’re ignored while you type in a box, and in the studio while you hold Ctrl, Cmd or Alt.
• Hold ↑ or ↓ to flick through styles. The preview catches up a moment after you let go.
• After you click a button with the mouse, such as 9:16 Shorts or a font, Space still plays and the arrows still change style.
• In Present, a corner shows the keys: '↑ ↓ styles', 'F format', 'Space play', 'Esc leave'.

If something goes wrong

• The keys do nothing. Click on the preview (not inside a text box or a menu) and try again. A menu or the colour ring uses the arrow keys itself while it has focus.
• On the tablet layout, ↑ and ↓ only move between three styles. On that layout they only step through the three picks (and 'From last time'). Click any other style to try it.
