I lost my answers before the upload. Why?
Nothing is saved until the upload finishes. How to avoid losing your work.
Your answers only live in the open page until your upload finishes, so anything that reloads or leaves the page clears them, with no warning.
What clears your answers
Before the upload finishes, any of these start you again from the beginning:
- Reloading the page.
- Your browser's Back button.
- Tapping the lyrik.fm wordmark at the top.
- Your phone reloading the tab. Phones often do this when you switch to another app, such as your notes, to copy lyrics, and come back.
How to avoid it
- Get your lyrics ready first. Keep them in a notes app or a document, so you can paste them again in seconds. See What do I need before I start?
- Copy your lyrics before you start, then paste them in one go when lyrik asks.
- Have your cover art saved where you can find it.
- Stay on the page until the button says 'Starting…'.
Once the upload finishes
Your song is saved from then on. You can close the page, and the analysis keeps going. Come back with the project link or from Your videos. See Where are my videos, and how do I get back to a project?
Good to know
- Only your answers are lost. Nothing is charged before the upload, and your free syncs and credits are untouched.
- Your audio file stays on your device. Choose it again.
If something goes wrong
- The page reloaded while I was pasting my lyrics. Choose your track again and answer the questions again. Paste your lyrics from your notes app.
- It reloads every time I switch apps. Your phone may be short of memory. Close other apps, or copy your lyrics before you start so you don't need to switch.
- The upload failed after all my answers. See My upload failed or keeps stopping
