The ‘Sync my lyrics’ button won’t press

The button stays greyed out until a quick robot check has passed and your account has loaded; if it doesn't wake up, something is usually blocking the robot check.

What the button needs

Sync my lyrics works once:

• the robot check has passed (it runs by itself, usually without you doing anything), and
• lyrik has checked whether you're signed in.

It doesn't say what it's waiting for yet.

Signed out, the button says Sign in and start. It opens sign-in, which has its own robot check. Once you've typed the code, your song starts by itself if one of your free syncs covers it. If it would use paid credits, the button says Sync my lyrics again, with what it uses underneath, so you can check first.

Try these, in order

1. Wait a few seconds. The check can take a moment on a slow connection.
2. Turn off your ad blocker for lyrik.fm. Ad blockers, privacy extensions and Brave's shields can block the robot check. Allow lyrik.fm, then reload the page.
3. Try another browser, such as Chrome or Safari, without extensions.
4. Try another network. Some work, school and public networks block the check. Try your phone's own data.
5. Reload the page. If you reload, your answers are lost, so copy your lyrics somewhere first. See I lost my answers before the upload. Why?

If something goes wrong

• 'The robot check couldn’t load. Check your connection and reload the page.' The check didn't load at all. Try steps 2 to 5.
• 'Please complete the check that you’re not a robot, then try again.' The check hadn't finished when you pressed. Wait a moment and press again.
• The question 'Where should we send your video?' never appeared. lyrik couldn't check whether you're signed in. Reload the page (copy your lyrics first).
• A different arrow button is greyed out. Each question's arrow wakes up when its answer is filled in: a song title, your lyrics, or an email address that looks right.

Good to know

• The robot check keeps lyrik free to preview, by stopping automated uploads.
• Nothing has uploaded yet while the button is greyed out, and nothing is charged.
