How do I sign in? There’s no password.

Inside Ditto

Sign in to Ditto, then open its video maker again. Ditto signs you into the video maker with your Ditto account. If your session has ended, reload the Ditto page and sign in there. Do not use the separate website's email-code sign-in to get back to your Ditto videos. Your videos and credits follow the Ditto account you used to make them.

The email-code steps below are for the standalone website, outside Ditto.

There’s no password: we email you a 6-digit code and a sign-in link, and either one signs you in.

How to sign in

1. Tap Sign in at the top of the page before you upload your song. The Download step also asks you to sign in if your session has ended.
2. Type your email address.
3. A quick robot check runs under the box. Usually you don’t need to do anything, but Send my code stays greyed out until it has passed.
4. Tap Send my code. It shows 'Sending…' while the email goes out.
5. You’ll see 'Check your inbox': 'We sent a 6-digit code to you@example.com. Type it here, or open the link in the email.'
6. Open the email. Its subject is 'Your lyrik sign-in code: 123456' (with your own code).
7. Type the 6 digits into the box. It checks them as soon as you’ve typed six ('Checking…'), or you can tap Sign in.
8. Or open the link in the email instead. If you open it in another tab of the same browser, the sign-in box notices and signs you in here too.

Good to know

• The code and the link last 10 minutes.
• Each works once, and using one uses the other. If you typed the code, the link in that email won’t work any more, and the other way round.
• You stay signed in for 30 days on that browser.
• The email has both the code and a Sign in button. Use whichever is easier.
• Typed the wrong address? Tap Use a different email.

Open beta

lyrik is in open beta, so anyone can sign in with their email address. No invite needed. If you see an old message about a private beta, reload the page and try again. See Is lyrik.fm in beta? Can anyone sign up?

If something goes wrong

• The code doesn’t work. Check you typed the code from the newest email. If it has expired or been used, tap Use a different email, check your address and tap Send my code for a fresh one.
• The email didn’t arrive. Give it a minute, then check your spam or promotions folder and that the address is spelt right.
• The link opened in a different browser. See My sign-in link opened, but I am still signed out.

Hidden extras

• The code box only takes digits, so you can paste the whole code from the email.
• On some phones, the keyboard offers the code from the email so you can fill it in with one tap.
