How do I post my clip on TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Download your 9:16 clip on the phone you post from, then add it to a new post like any other video from your phone.

What your clip file is

• An MP4 video, 1080×1920, the tall 9:16 shape.
• 5 to 60 seconds long: the part of your song you chose on the timeline.
• Your own audio, from the file you uploaded.
• Paid downloads have no watermark, logo or end card. Free clips have a small Made with lyrik.fm credit.

How to get your clip

1. On the Style step, press the Download button. If you started with clips, it says Download · your first clip is free (or Download · from £1.49$1.79€1.79CA$2.69A$2.69 once you’ve used your free clip).
2. On 'What would you like?', choose Just the clip, or Full video, which comes with your clip. Just the clip shows 'Free' if it’s your first, or £1.49$1.79€1.79CA$2.69A$2.69 after that.
3. Check the line 'Your clip:', for example 'Your clip: 0:45 to 1:15 (30 s).' To move it, tap Change it. See How do I choose which part of my song becomes the clip?
4. Press the button: Download your free clip for your first one (no box to tick), or, after that, tick the box to start your download straight away and press, for example, Use 150 credits.
5. You'll see 'Making your clip…'. You can close the page: it keeps going.
6. When it's ready, tap Download next to your clip, for example '9:16 clip · 0:45 to 1:15'.

How to post it

1. Download the clip on the phone you'll post from. That saves sending it between devices.
2. Use your phone's main browser. If you opened lyrik from a link inside another app, open it in your main browser before you download. Downloads from a browser inside another app often fail.
3. Save the clip to your phone.
4. Open TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, start a new post, and choose the clip from your phone's videos.
5. Add your caption and post.

Choosing what to post

• A hook-length clip (15 s) is quick and easy to loop.
• A whole chorus (about 30 s) gives people the full lift of the song.
• Pick the part people will remember.

Good to know

• A clip on its own is just the clip. It doesn't include the captions, synced lyrics or YouTube copy pack. Those come with the full video.
• One file for all three apps. The same 9:16 clip is made for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, with the lyrics kept in the area their buttons leave clear.
• Downloading again is free. Open the song from Your videos and go to the Download step.
• Want another part of the song? Another clip from the same song is £0.99$1.19€1.19CA$1.79A$1.79, or free if it’s your first clip on its own.
• Covers: post on your own account and say it's a cover.

If something goes wrong

• The download doesn't start, or the file won't save. You may be in a browser inside another app. Open lyrik in your phone's main browser and try again.
• 'We’re at capacity today. Your project is saved: try again tomorrow and nothing is lost.' We're making a lot of videos today. Nothing was charged. Try again tomorrow.
• 'Something went wrong with the render.' See My render failed. What now?
• The lyrics look cut off in the app. Check the clip in the studio's 9:16 preview first. If it looks right there, the app's own buttons or a long caption may be covering it.

Hidden extras
