My analysis failed. What should I do?

Try again picks up where it stopped, and the credits for the failed try come back.

Press Try again: lyrik picks up where it stopped, and the credits for the failed try are already back in your wallet.

What you'll see

The screen says 'That didn’t work.' with one of these lines:

  • 'Something stopped us part-way through. Your upload is safe, and trying again picks up where we left off.'
  • 'The analysis stopped unexpectedly. Try again.'

Your track, lyrics and cover are all kept. You don't need to upload again.

How to try again

  1. Press Try again.
  2. If you're signed in and have enough credits, the analysis starts again straight away. Any steps that already finished are reused, so it's usually quicker.
  3. If you're signed out, a sign-in sheet opens: 'Sign in to try again. We’ll email you a 6-digit code.' Sign in with the code from the email, and the new try starts.
  4. If your wallet is short, the credit packs open with a line such as 'You need 10 credits more to try again.' Add credits, and the new try starts.

Good to know

  • The failed try is refunded by itself. Under the button you'll see 'The 10 credits for this try went back to your wallet.' If it used one of your free syncs, that free sync comes back.
  • Each try is paid like the first. A new try uses 10 credits (about 10p), or one free sync. If it fails too, it's refunded too.
  • You only pay for a try that works.
  • Nothing else is lost. Your answers, your file and your cover are saved with the project.

If something goes wrong

  • It fails again. Tap Details under the button. It shows the technical message behind the failure. Copy it and send it to us with your project link.
  • 'Sign in to try again.' You need to be signed in to start a new try. Tap the button and follow the sign-in steps.
  • 'Add credits to sync this song.' Your free syncs are used up and your wallet has under 10 credits.
  • The meter stopped moving but there's no 'That didn’t work.' That's a slow analysis, not a failed one. See The analysis is stuck at 99% or on 'Getting started…'

Hidden extras

  • Details is there for support. You don't need to understand it, but it helps us fix things faster.
  • If the same file fails more than once, try exporting it again as a WAV or FLAC and starting a new video with it. A damaged file can stop the analysis.
