I don’t have cover art yet. What happens if I skip it?
We make a simple stand-in cover. How it affects colours and styles, and how to add yours later.
If you skip cover art, lyrik makes a simple stand-in cover for you and builds your colours from that, and you can still pick your own colour in the studio.
How to skip it
- When lyrik asks 'Got cover art? Every style takes its colours from it.', tap Skip for now. If you’d already chosen an image, the button reads Use no cover.
- Your answer reads 'No cover art' with the note 'We’ll make a quiet placeholder from your colours.'
- Changed your mind before uploading? Tap Add one.
What actually happens
- lyrik makes a stand-in image: a simple still life of one or two sculptural shapes.
- That image is used wherever a style uses your cover: for the colours, for every 'Your cover' background, and for the cut-out.
- The studio still says 'Colour · from your cover'. Here, 'your cover' means the stand-in.
- Behind is greyed out with 'Needs a photo of a person on the cover', because the stand-in has no person in it.
Make it look like yours
- In the studio, find the Colour row.
- Tap + Your colour.
- Pick a colour from the ring, or type a brand colour code like
#1f6feband tap Use. - Tap Done.
Your colour carries across every style.
Adding real art later
The cover can’t be added or changed after upload. When your art is ready:
- Start a new video with the same audio file.
- Add your cover art at the cover question.
- Syncing it again is free on your account, and quicker.
See Starting another project with the same audio. Do this before you buy a download, because downloads belong to the project.
