The preview is playing without sound
Browsers block sound until you tap. One tap turns it on.
Your browser holds back sound until you tap or click the page once, so the preview starts silently: one tap anywhere turns the sound on.
What you'll see
- With a mouse: 'Playing without sound.' over the preview, with a Turn sound on button.
- On a touch screen: 'Tap for sound' in the corner of the preview.
How to turn the sound on
- Tap or click anywhere in the studio, or press Turn sound on.
- The preview carries on playing, now with sound.
Your first tap on the video only turns the sound on. It doesn't pause. On a keyboard, pressing Space first does the same: sound on, still playing.
Good to know
- Browsers do this on purpose so pages can't start making noise by themselves. It isn't a fault in lyrik.
- The preview doesn't start by itself if your device is set to reduce motion or to save data. Press play on the video.
- The player's own mute button wins. If you muted the preview with the player's sound control, unmute it there.
If something goes wrong
- Still no sound after tapping. Check your device's volume, and that your phone isn't on silent.
- Check the player's volume. The preview has its own volume control in its control bar. Make sure it isn't muted or turned right down.
- Bluetooth headphones? Check the sound is going to the device you expect.
- 'Playing without sound.' came back. Sometimes the browser gives up on starting the sound. Tap once more.
