Using Xerox Poster in lyrik.fm

Every phrase becomes a photocopied gig flyer, set as big as it will go.

Pick Xerox Poster on the Style step: each phrase of your song becomes a photocopied flyer, with one to three words set as big as they'll go.

What it looks like

  • A run of gig flyers on copier paper. One to three words a poster.
  • A hero word. The biggest word on each poster can be about a third of the frame tall, printed in toner with a flat offset shadow.
  • A new sheet for each part of the song. Verses, choruses and bridges each get fresh paper.
  • Words wait their turn. Words you haven't sung yet wait as a faint screen, then print solid as you sing them.

Best for

  • Pop, rap, rock and dance hooks.
  • Mid to high energy, roughly 70 to 175 BPM.
  • Songs with a strong, repeated chorus: it makes the chorus a poster.
  • Bright, light or colourful covers suit it well, but any cover works.

How to make it

  1. On the Style step ('Pick a style.'), find Xerox Poster. On a phone, tap the Style tab first.
  2. Tap or click the card. Your clip (your first chorus, to start with) plays as a run of posters.
  3. Choose a Font, a colour under Colour · from your cover, and a Lyric size.
  4. Open More ways to tweak it (the More tab on a phone) for the paper, energy and ad-libs.
  5. Press Shuffle for new poster layouts. Undo goes back to the take before.
  6. Check both shapes with 16:9 YouTube and 9:16 Shorts.
  7. Press Download · from £4.99$5.99€5.99CA$8.99A$8.99.

Font availability depends on your lyrics. Colour choices can depend on the cover, and the Ad-libs row needs marked ad-libs.

Xerox Poster always sets your lyrics in capitals and lays out each poster for its own words. The panel says 'Xerox Poster chooses the capitals and where the lyrics sit for you.'

Tips for great results

16:9 and 9:16

  • 16:9 sets each poster across the wide frame.
  • 9:16 centres the poster block a little above the middle, away from most of the TikTok, Reels and Shorts buttons. Check the clip's preview before you download.

Languages

  • Accented letters and Yoruba marks are fine in every font.
  • If your lyrics use the hooked Hausa letters (ɓ ɗ ƙ ƴ), or Igbo letters whose marks would collide in the font, the whole song moves to a matching font that has them, so it never mixes fonts.

Good to know

  • Lowercase isn't offered here, because long lowercase letters ran off the bottom of the poster.
  • Your colour, size, ad-libs and energy follow you if you switch style. Xerox Poster remembers its own font and paper.
  • Previewing is free. Your first eligible clip is free too; other downloads use credits.

If something goes wrong

  • A font chip is greyed out. Tap it to see which letters it lacks, then pick another. See Why is a style or font greyed out?
  • Posters flip too fast in a fast verse. That's the style keeping up with every word. Try Calm under Energy, or try Xerox, which sets whole lines on strips.

Hidden extras

  • On a computer, press S to shuffle the posters and F to switch shape.
