Using Now Playing in lyrik.fm

A clean scrolling lyrics screen washed in your cover’s colours: the safe, simple choice.

Pick Now Playing on the Style step: your lyrics scroll line by line like the lyrics view in a music app, over a slow wash of your cover's colours.

What it looks like

  • The line you're singing is big and bold, on the left. The lines around it are smaller, softer and faded.
  • A fill runs through the words as you sing each syllable.
  • A slow, flowing field of your cover's colours sits behind.
  • Your cover on show. In 16:9, your sharp cover sits large on the right, with your song title and artist name.
  • Choruses glow. The colours tint towards your cover's accent colour and the lines grow.
  • Ad-libs in italics.

Best for

  • Pop, R&B and afrobeats.
  • Calm to fairly lively songs, roughly 55 to 140 BPM.
  • Any cover. It's the safe, simple choice when you want the words to be easy to read.

How to make it

  1. On the Style step ('Pick a style.'), find Now Playing. On a phone, tap the Style tab first.
  2. Tap or click the card to see your clip (your first chorus, to start with) scroll by.
  3. Choose a Font, a colour under Colour · from your cover, and a Lyric size.
  4. Open More ways to tweak it (the More tab on a phone) for the background, Capitals and Energy.
  5. Press Shuffle for a new flow of colour. Undo goes back.
  6. Check both shapes, then press Download · from £4.99$5.99€5.99CA$8.99A$8.99.

Available controls

Control Choices
Font Original, Geometric, Bold sans, Serif
Colour Our pick, Light, Dark, Main colour, Bold colour, Pop, Muted, Midnight, Sand, Your colour
Lyric size Small, Medium, Large, Huge
Capitals As typed, lowercase, ALL CAPS

Font availability depends on your lyrics. Colour choices can depend on the cover, and the Ad-libs row needs marked ad-libs.

Your lines always sit on the left, like a lyrics screen, so the panel says 'Now Playing chooses where the lyrics sit for you.'

Tips for great results

16:9 and 9:16

  • 16:9: the lyrics on the left, your sharp cover large on the right with your title and artist name.
  • 9:16: a frosted card made from your blurred cover, with your title, artist name and a progress bar at the top, and your sharp cover centred below. The lyrics stay inside the area TikTok, Reels and Shorts leave clear.

Languages

  • Original sets Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Akan letters.
  • Geometric, Bold sans and Serif switch to Original for songs they can't set.

Good to know

  • Colour, size, capitals, ad-libs and energy carry across if you switch style. Now Playing remembers its own font and background.
  • Shuffle gives every style a new take, not just Now Playing.
  • Previewing is free. Your first eligible clip is free too; other downloads use credits.

If something goes wrong

  • The title shows a typo or the file name. The title is filled in from your file name when you start, and it can't be changed after upload. Start a new video with the same audio file and the right title. If it’s the very same file, syncing it again can be free. See Starting another project with the same audio.
  • 'Your lyrics use letters Serif doesn’t have, so we’re showing a font that has them.' (or another font's name) Your song is shown in Original, which has every letter you need.

Hidden extras

  • The progress bar on the 9:16 card moves with the song, which suits a clip that shows where you are in the track.
  • On a computer, press S for a new flow of colour and F to switch shape.
